Lyle Dwaine Miller

Born/Raised- Farm just outside of North English, Iowa
Graduated from English Valley High School, Class of 1966..
Member of the US Navy 1967-1971 where he served as Military Police
            – Stationed in San Diego, Okinawa, Hawaii, and the Philippines
After the military, worked in various Construction/Carpentry roles for –
             – Solar Homes in Marengo, Iowa
             – Expert Carpenter for Amana Society Builders, Amana Iowa
             – Various roofing/siding work throughout the local communities
Eventually began splitting his time between Arizona in the winter and Iowa in the summer.
              – While in Arizona, enjoyed spending time outside, specifically at/in the pool, and riding his bicycle in and around the RV resort
              – While in Arizona, was affectionately known as the RV park “handyman” and was always willing to help his neighbors.
              – While in Iowa, he spent the summers traveling around the state as the starting gate driver for the Iowa Harness Horseman’s Association.
Lyle was a very gentle soul, a man of very few words and always willing to help anyone in need, a tribute to his Midwest upbringing.
 
Lyle is survived by one brother Eldon Miller (Auburn, New York), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lye was preceded in death by his brother Ron Miller (Dysart, IA), sister Carolyn Newman (Mt. Vernon, IA), sister Donna Dabler (Trenton, MO), and brother Dale Miller (North English, IA).
 
There will be tributes/services planned at the Iowa Harness Horseman’s Association in Iowa and at the Mesa Spirit RV Resort in Arizona, dates to be determined.
