Edward passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 12:30 am. Torrance Memorial Hospital from complications of lung cancer treatment. He was born in Somerset Hospital in the heart of “Laurel Highlands” Somerset, PA, son of the late William T. and Josephine E. Bills on June 20, 1953. In 1971, he graduated from Gateway School District in Monroeville, PA. He moved to Carbondale, IL, and enrolled in Southern Illinois University in the College of Arts and Media. During this time, he did body work on small cars, MG B, Triumph, and VW, his passion from high school days, which helped pay for college. In 1976, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema and Mass Communication, which led him back to Pittsburgh to apply for employment with Rockwell International Headquarters, as Director of Visual Communication. At this time they had nine divisions and five executives guiding the company in many disciplines Avionics, Shuttle Endeavour, Aircraft, Military Research and Commercial Printing. They had intentions of expanding employee communication while also improving their annual report to stockholders. Edward spent his entire career with the company traveling all over the world providing some very dynamic digital programs for employee news and large screen imaging for stockholder meetings. He spent his career 30 plus years working tirelessly producing programs nationally and internationally for the company when it was split and sold to subsidiaries and Ed retired in early 2000 to enjoy California .

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his sister-in- law Suzie Bills, and his niece, Robin Bills. He is survived by five brothers, Thomas and wife Karen, of Delmont PA, Kenneth and wife Beverly, of Hilton Head Island, Jeffrey and wife Brenda, of Martinsville, IN, Robert and wife Debra of Riverview, FL, Gerald Flagstaff, AZ, and two sisters, Carol Petrillo and husband Thomas, of Chicago, IL, and Cynthia Hegedus and husband James, of Greensburg, PA. Also surviving are five nieces and seven nephews and his extended family in CA, Tony, Julie, and Connor Corlette, and friend Tom Kaminski of CA.

His final wishes were to have no funeral or celebration of life. Instead, he chose to donate his organs and body to science. His corneas were donated to waiting candidates and his body was gifted to RESEARCH FOR LIFE with cremation to follow.
