Thomas Edward Gilley, 77, a resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away on January 20, 2026, after a long illness. Born in 1949 to parents John T. and Agnes Gilley in College Park, Georgia, he had the opportunity to travel and adventure far, living in seven states and visiting 28 countries. He collected many memories and stories from his journeys to save and share.
Tom deeply loved his family and his dogs and was a passionate supporter of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, where he studied Political Science. He found the bluebird skies and the sunsets of the Southwest deeply inspirational, and they triggered his inner ‘cowboy’ appreciation for boots and hats.
Tom leaves behind Lynn, wife of 47 years; daughter Julie Williams, grandson Kristopher, and granddaughter Hannah, of Keller, Texas; brother Alan of Alpharetta, Georgia; and sister Patricia of Panama City, FL. Brother predeceases him, David.
