Iris was the oldest daughter of Beryl and Marie Hightower, sister to Carl Hightower, Gerry Johnson, and Janet Gilsdorf.
She shared 42 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Charles (Chic) Martin, and together they raised three children, Donna Wiens, Loraine Lewis, and Gregory Martin.
Iris faced and fought through years of dementia, living far beyond expectations. As her condition progressed, her family would end each visit by singing, You Are My Sunshine with her.
She may not have been able to get all of the words out, but it always brought a smile to her face.
