Cynthia Ann Dowdell, 69, of Mesa, AZ passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026 after a long and courageous journey with Dementia.
Born on September 27, 1957 in Great Bend, KS, Cindi was the daughter of Merle Edwin Sneathen & Barbara Jean Cave.
Cindi will be remembered for her big smile, her love of the Kansas Jayhawks, and the joy she brought to everyone that she encountered.
Cindi loved her role as “Nana” to her two grandchildren, Jaylen (4) and Rylee (2). They brought her so much joy in her final years of life.
Cindi was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, a caring sister, and a cherished friend. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Ashon (Stephanie) Dowdell, former husband and lifelong friend, Randy Dowdell, and siblings Randy (Donna) Johnson and Sandy (Keith) Unrein.
While her battle with dementia was challenging, Cindi maintained an unwavering love of family and a quiet strength. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace and free from the burden of the disease.
The family encourages those who knew Cindi to share a favorite story about her or to spend time in reflection with those you love.
The family also wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Fellowship Square and Covenant Hospice for their compassionate care and support in Cindi’s final year.
