John “Jack” Kramer

Jack Kramer, 75, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on June 1, 2026.

Jack was born on September 24, 1950, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Robert and LaVon Kramer. He was the second oldest of eight children and grew up surrounded by the values of hard work, family and community.

He graduated from Cuba City High School with the Class of 1969 where he participated in football and track. Legend has it that he still holds a track record, he attended Woodstock that same year and bought his first and only brand new car, a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Jack owned and operated a milk hauling business, Kramer Bros Trucking, Inc, with his brother Tom, before relocating to Arizona, where he enjoyed his retirement.

Above all else, Jack’s greatest pride and joy was his family. His four children were the center of his world, and nothing brought him greater happiness than watching them and his grandchildren grow and succeed. He is survived by his children: Kari (Gary) Griffo of San Antonio, Texas; Kellie (Adam) Heitzkey of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; Kurt (Jean-Philippe) Kramer of Oakland, California; and Kristin (Evan) Adams of Phoenix, Arizona. He also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren; Henry, Samuel, Hannah, Luke, Sarah, Jack and Hank, all of whom brought him immeasurable joy and entertainment. He is further survived by his siblings: Jim, Tom, Stephen, Barbara and David. Jack was preceded in death by his loving parents, Robert and LaVon and his brothers, Gary and Kevin.

Jack was known for his quiet strength, steadfast work ethic, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He remained a loyal and passionate Green Bay Packers fan throughout his life, proudly cheering on the Packers every season and rarely missing a game. Win or lose, his love for the green and gold never wavered. His brick at Lambeau Field is a permanent piece of Packers history that connects him to the team and stadium’s legacy.

In his early years, Jack enjoyed boating on the Mississippi and was an avid water skier. He was known as a car-guy with allegiance to Chevrolet and talked fondly of his Camaro and Corvettes. He bowled in multiple leagues in Wisconsin and Arizona. He spent more time on the golf course in his retirement and participated in tournaments with his brothers, Steve and Kevin. He was an enthusiastic card player including euchre, poker and cribbage. The latter was always for “a buck a game”. Later in life, he realized a passion for “puzzling”, completing countless 1000 piece puzzles. Throughout his life he was known for being able to fix things, a true “jack of all trades”. He continued to tinker daily to ensure things were operating smoothly; and he could always turn to his well stocked tool chest for just the right gadget.

Jack will be remembered for his kind heart, quirky sense of humor, his dedication to family, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His memory lives on through his children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends, who will miss him deeply and remember him with love.

His four children will be gathering on his birthday, September 24th, at Lambeau Field to watch the Packers take on the Falcons. They will visit “the brick” and share memories of a good Dad. A private family remembrance will be held in Bellevue, Iowa on Saturday, September 26th.
