Evangelina was born to the late Arnulfo and Angelita Leal on August 21, 1937, in Cameron, Texas. She transitioned peacefully, in her own home, as she wished on April 3, 2026. She was known as “Nina” to her loved ones. She was a hardworking, loving, and caring individual who always put others’ needs ahead of her own. These qualities remained constant throughout a life rooted in her Catholic faith and quiet strength. Her memory will remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
Evangelina is survived by her best friend of over 65 years, Gwendolyn Burton, a sister, and a host of nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
