With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Katie M. Borchert,on July 28, 2026, at the age of 45.
Born and raised in West Bend, Wisconsin, Katie was a kind, caring, and compassionate woman whose life was devoted to helping others. She had a generous heart and a genuine concern for the well-being of those around her.
Katie was a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and also held a Master’s degree in Chinese Medicine. Her passion for natural healing and helping others extended far beyond her education and profession. She truly cared about her patients and treated them with compassion, kindness, and dedication.
In 2025, Katie fulfilled a dream by opening her own practice, Blissful Health, in Chino Valley, Arizona. She was proud of the opportunity to help others through her knowledge, dedication, and passion for natural medicine. Her patients were more than just patients to Katie; she genuinely cared about their health and well-being.
Katie had a deep love for the outdoors. She especially enjoyed hiking in the beautiful mountains surrounding her home in Chino Valley. She embraced country living at her ranch, where she enjoyed raising chickens and caring for her animals. The beauty of nature and the simple pleasures of ranch life brought her happiness.
Katie is survived by her loving parents, John and Sharon Scharrer of West Bend, Wisconsin; her sister, Kristin (Nathan) Wiech, and their children, Alex, Elsie, and Lucas; her life partner, Preston Boyd; his children, Ilah, Cooper, and Ely; and Ilah’s daughter, Charlotte Mae. She will also be remembered by many other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Dr.Katie will be remembered for her kindness, her compassionate spirit, her love of nature, and the care she gave so freely to others. Her life made a difference, especially to the patients she helped and the people fortunate enough to know her.
Our hearts are broken by her passing, but we are forever grateful for the time we had with her. We are so proud of the woman Katie became. She brought kindness, compassion, and love into this world, and nothing will ever take away the special place she holds in our hearts.
